I wrote this short poem about one year ago, on a day when I was feeling particularly inspired and defiant about my future. Do you think it gives a glimpse into ambition, or does it wierd you out?
I stand alone before the adoring thousands,
My figure transfixed with the glory of the knowledge of the way.
Cheering, chanting they call out my name,
A stentorian roar to collapse the foundations of the obsolete,
And rebuild them together, in righteousness anew.
“Lead us from our slumber, show us the path!”
A new age is dawned, for we have grown once again.
“Together!” I lead the lonely cry-
“And rise as one!” the many reply.
Someday, they’ll all cheer.
