Nope. The only thing that you can do to increase performance is to EXPAND the RAM.

Check your system at this website:

Good luck

In my experience you can't..... I found that out with mine after I bought it at least 4years ago now (a kinda ancient Toshiba Satelite 220CS)..... the processors are usually hidden away and impossible to get at without turning the laptop into a rather expensive jigsaw puzzle.
It took me until last week to figure out where the hard drive is hidden and how to get it out........ and I think I've figured out where you're supposed to stick the memory (under the keyboard somewhere).

Conventional wisdom is you can only upgrade the RAM + the Hard drive.

It may not be able to play the latest games, but some older stuff like "Sim City2000" does.. got the demo on there......would install more, except the laptop didn't come with a CD drive, and for some reason my USB drive seems to cause my desktop PC to act funny (like last time the damn computer blacked out, and I had to set BIOS up again!)

Most laptop processors are soldered on board as a weight and space saving design. Try increasing the RAM to improve game play. Some laptops are also designed with shared video memory and lower end graphic chips. This will also affect the ability to play some of the more graphic ingtensive games.

It would be easier if you told us what kind you have (laptop and processor) and what kind of games you wanna play. You can, but it's not as easy or common as a desktop. It's not recommended to do-it-yourself. Plus you probably don't have a good graphics card or RAM, so you're probably off getting a new laptop.

It relies upon, how previous is it? who's it made via? do you comprehend what socket it has? maximum newer laptops have upgradeable sockets interior the motherboard that permit reasonable progression via upgrading processor, yet whilst your motherboard is the right age, i.e. greater desirable than 3 years previous, then i dont think of it would be smart to stick with that pc.

just get a new laptop or heck buy a desktop they are better for games. Also make sure you KEEP AWAY FROM THESE PROCESSORS:
Intel Celeron (any type)
AMD Sempron
Do not get there no matter what speed.
Also get a nVidia or Ati graphics card anything integrated is not good. Same with sound, upgrade your sound card

quick answer is no...
long answer is it depends but the cost of such an operation would be the same as getting a new machine...
so get a new machine with a faster processer...the most you can upgrade on a laptop is the memory, cd drive, hard drive, and network connection (through the use of the pci slots or wireless network card bay on newer laptops)

Greetings! I consider myself somewhat of a computer guy. Please anyone correct me if im wrong, but you cant. What you can do is purchase a new and better graphics card, and more RAM. I did that for my old computer and it helped me out a lot!
