Call your local DHS (department of human services) Office and ask about the medical they have. Medicare is what they give out and it is totally free as long as you qualify which it sounds like you do from my prospective. I have a medical card through DHS and it pays for just about everything. There are guidelines but your pregnancy will be covered. So you should really check it out. And when your child is born they will be eligible for a medical card too.

Good Luck and Congratulations. Life won't always be this hard. Keep your head up.

Well, most companies most likely won't hire a pregnant woman simply because you will only be able to work for a few months before you have to take 6 weeks off. Second, MOST companies require that you have a job for 6 months to a year, before you qualify for insurance. Some don't...but most do. For now, if I were you I would go to Medicaid, or at LEAST to a Planned Parenthood so you and the baby can get the prenatal care you need. The baby doesn't care if the nurse practitioner or doctor is Medicaid or covered by insurance, and the bottom line is having a healthy baby. Tell the hubby to keep trying, but until then...take care of your health and that of the babies the best you can.

No insurance company besides blue sheild will cover you and I am not even sure that they would it also costs about 700 a month. I would get the Medicade it is what it is there for. You need proper medical coverage for you and your baby.. Don't let your pride stop you from doing whats best for your baby. They will also cover your child after you have it. I had to do this with my first child.. It was hard my husband and I did not want to feel like welfare cases. But in the end the child is more important. After we had her we mad sure that we had jobs that had insurance. I hope this helped

Most insurance companies won't cover the costs of a pre-existing condition, which your pregnancy most definitely is (I don't think you'd convince them that you didn't know you were 4 months along). Your best option would probably be to get on Medicaid, if you qualify. You could also qualify for free/cheap checkups through a local clinic or your County Health program. Programs like WIC will really help with costs of food, etc for you and the baby.

I don't know what state you live in but here in California they have a program called Healthy Families for low cost health insurance. Medi-cal offers good doctors my sister had her first child with them and gave birth at a great hospital. If you have a WIC program in your area they can offer some information as well as get you on their program for free food vouchers and prenatal vitamins. Remember that a job cannot discriminate against a pregnant woman, you don't need to disclose this information at an interview and they cannot ask you. Good luck and get lots of rest.

You will need to bite the bullet and get Medicaid. You should have begun prenatal care before now. If neither you or your husband has been working, and you are not already receiving assistance, out of curiosity, how are you getting by? Insurance is very unlikely to cover the pregnancy as it will be considered a preexisting condition, and rightly so. Please go apply for emergency Medicaid and get prenatal care. Is your pride worth your child's health? Good luck to you, and congratulations on your addition.

If you live in California, there is Medi-Cal or The Healthy Families Program" if not you can try your local social services program. Being that neither of you have jobs, you probably qualify. It's free, and it's not as bad as you probably think it is. People have the worse stereotypes about public assistance. It's not like you're getting welfare...and even if you were, you're just doing it till you get back on your feet. You should swallow your pride for your baby. His/Her health is more important then you're pride. Good Luck!

Aside from medicade/medicare, try checking with your local health department for more information. They should be at least able to refer you to a woman's clinic that can take care of things until you are insured. Also, they'll be able to give you info on other forms of assistance to help out. Best of luck to you and your growing family!!!!
