Crime fighters? You watch too much t.v. Law informant dont run around taking criminal down like the show "cops". They deal more with interacting with the community. Yes, they do enforce laws. What gives you the right to pick and choose which law you want to follow? Laws are set in place to protect the community. The police give tickets because they are enforcing a law that was broke. Police do not pick and choose either, there doing there job like everyone else. They are the ones that come running to your aid when no ones around. They risk their lives everyday for you and I! Grow up and get your life together before you post a stupid question.

I would guess, if there is a speed limit, you are breaking the law. Why not follow the speed limit and take some responsability for your actions instead of blaming others. ALso, a lot of people moving drugs, and those with arrest warrants, are apprehended because of stops for speeding. These are ( for the most part) people willing to put their lives on the line for you and others, show a little respect.

Its called a quota. If a cop doesnt write enough tickets monthly, they can lose their rank. Most small towns dont have enough high crime (which gives more support in becoming a detective quicker), so traffic violations are usually the way people move up the ladder.

My dad was a cop, so I know how the crooked system works, regardless of what people say.

because crime is too fast paced for some. besides, even if theres no one around in a school zone and you go over the limit, your still breaking the law, in other words, its a crime, and they are fighting crime by giving you a ticket.

They don't fight crime because catching criminals does not pay a fine, which puts money in the bank for the city, county, state.

They are scared to go after really dangerous criminals, they might get hurt. It`s easier to catch someone speeding plus you have to pay a fine!Cheez! There are a lot of good answers on here!

Violating speed limits IS a crime, so if you do it expect to get a ticket from a police officer who is just doing his job. That's what we pay taxes for. Quit whining and obey the law.

because you broke the law, and obviously there was nothing else going on. they are there to protect and serve, and what if you would have been going that fast and a child ran out in front of you? there is a reason for speed zones

They're doing their jobs. If you are speeding, you are breaking the law. Instead of complaining about it, why don't you just obey the speed limit?

Police, as a rule, are the bulllies left over from high school...........and they just love to try and intimidate people. I agree with you that they have a lot of better things to do than give speeding tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (always remember, they never want to really go anywhere they can get hurt....basically they are not courageous.....just bullies)
