Go to this site. http://www.fwhc.org/birthcontrol/bcdepo.htm#risks
It tells you of the side affects and how long to expect them to last. If I was you I would go and see my Dr right away and tell him/her how you are feeling. Maybe this isn't the type of control you need. Good luck.

I am taking the stuff right now and I have been tired for the past few months and I have put on a bit of weight.... the bleeding when I started taking it was like a normal period(7days) and it is down to a slow trickle. It is more of a pain in the *** and I am getting tired of it. I needed a birth control that was easy to use and no nonsense because of my schedule. When I went in for my second shot I told my doctor about it not stopping and he said "that I may be one of those individuals that need a bottle and a half every two months." Oh lucky me! So I am going to try that, if it doesn't stop then I will have to find something else as I would probably one of those women that just can't use it.

I have been using it since April of this year. If you read the instructions that came with the prescription you are explaining good majority of the side effects. If you have been having heavy bleeding then that is probably a sign that you can't use Depo. See your doctor and tell him about your symptoms....please!

Yes, Dont worry about it to much. The worrying is probably making it worse. Some people get on Depo and do not have a period at all and some bleed straite through for months. Usually after the first 6 Mo. or so it will calm down but as far as the moods, that will take some adjusting. After all it is a male hormon that was put into you. Make sure you take calcium and iron vitamin pills. This will help with the fatigue and weekness. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could be allergic to the shot. Definately tell the Doctor about all your side effects. It is not normal to bleed ALL the time.

Also, the shot is going to wear off soon right? Don't get another one. Pills you can stop taking, an IUD you can have removed if either cause side effects, but once you get the shot, it's in you.

YOu should have gone to the er after the first souple of weeks, that's not a normal cycle after that. I was on depo for 7 years and I never experienced any of that. The depo is not for everybody. Why is it taking soooooo long for you to get this checked. YOu could loose too much blood you know, maybe need a transfusion.......

i will never get a birth control shot, the pill did that to me only it diddnt last as long of course, i am mentaly sensitive to hormones, they tend to mess me up realy bad, turn me crazy and all that stuff.... i dont know how long that lasts, you could find out easy enouf by searching "depo shot side effects" on google.com

as for your bleading and tiredness...you are very likely anemic(low iron)it will cause fatige, easy bruising, depression, dark circles under your eyes, dizziness, loss of concentration, ect... iron is what makes it possible for your blood to cary oxygen, so when you lose blood, and your not getting enough iron to replace the iron lost, you dont get propper oxygen to your body...sooo, i would say see your doctor, take a vitamin with a good amount of iron(make sure you ask your doctor if the ammount is safe for your wieght) try to eat well, and drink plenty of water, starting your day with something you look forward to will likely lift your spirits, try to do it every day...a walk first thing, a cup of coffee, a shower/bath, a bowl of strawberries, anything that you will look forward to...and last but not least, get plenty of sleep...

good luck

you should not be bleeding for 3 months under any circumstance. if you're doctors appointment is not tomorrow, go to the emergency room and make sure you tell them ALL of the symptoms you are having. if you ever bleed longer than your normal period, you should always let your doctor know. and it's always important to tell them any side effects you are having with any medication. not all meds are for all people and you need to find the on that's right for you.

If you were really scared and conerned you should tell your dr everything. you should always be upfront and honest with you dr with everything no matter how person or embarrssing. tell him. go to him as soon as you can get an appointment. u maybe a type that doesnt do well with the shot. perhaps a light dosage ofthe pill..

or maybe ur just the type or cant handle it.

You MUST discuss this with your doctor when you consult him about your bleeding. He will in all likelihood take you off Depo Provera immediately and prescribe something more appropriate.
