Yes, and I urge you to get help if you feel more depress. But in general I have seen that teenagers right now are very smart and can do.I am very prod of them that they care about the world they live in.It is very sad for the next generation to inherit the problems that my generation who are lacking of humanity and commonsense as such global warming,Wars everywhere,Aids in Africa and no cure, deficit that expect the middle class picking the tab while the faulty rich do nothing, unemployment and no money for social security in the future,45 million in U.S. without health care, refugees around the world, people cheat and lie everywhere on Cyb space in order to get other money.Well I hear you and you need to form your group and talk it out then you will be able to help others then you feel good about yourself and the world around you.Good luck and I am honor to answer this question.

I am amazed by the question and the responses so far. I am a mother and a former middle school teacher. My impression of teenagers - they don't care about anything but themselves! So - I admire your desire to be "depressed" about the state of humanity and the world in general! Best of Luck to you - There are SO many other things to be really "depressed" about - but HAVE AT IT WITH THE HUMANITY THING!

i think yes, because now is when you are doubting yourself, looking at things for reason and concern. You want to see the world perfect as you did when you were young but it's not. There are so many problems that are our fault and also not our fault that we want to fix or atleast point out to people who are ignorant to them. Our parents can't change things and it really depresses anyone. The best thing though is that you are aware and can now make a change by talking and acting with your thoughts. I'm sure there are plenty of others who feel the same and alone, join together and make a difference
There's a great quote I read :
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
– Frank Outlaw
and cheer up. :]

Of course. Every generation of teenagers is shocked by the world around them. Yet, every generation continues to survive.
Just focus on your education. It is the best investment you can make as it is an investment in yourself. Then, after finishing college, you can take on changing the world.

I think since 9/11 that's just the way the world has become for most people.... You need to do stuff to take your mind off all the crap that's going on in the world.

Yeah, its part of being a teenager. The hard part is not trying to kill yourself during this time period. Good luck!

shouldn't we all be depressed about that? it's harder for a teen to deal with it though, because there's not much we can do about it at our age. not very many people care to listen.
