Somehow, I really doubt it.

Any thoughts?

No, they wouldn't.
I've been reported for the most pathetic reasons.
I'm convinced that most who do the reporting are little kiddies seeking a power trip.
The reporting process needs an overhaul. A lot of people are getting tired of it.

Yup, darn tootin' I would, I've even gone so far as to email directly to someone when I felt it was appropriate to do so. I'm hardly Edna Bambrick, the self-appointed Internet cop, but talk of enjoyment in molesting children, posts intended for no purpose except to incite anger, racist and sexist insults and deliberately stupid drivel simply don't belong here. There are children present, remember? Yahoo owns this site, it's free of charge, and they have guidelines as to what they consider acceptable and not. If reporting someone helps them operate this site the way they intended it to be run so they don't decide to discontinue it like they did the user-created chat rooms, I'm glad to do my part. The user rooms in chat had become nothing more than online insane asylums and they dumped them. The same kind of people that get reported are quite likely to be the type to start a flame war or trolling and I'm sure the Yahoo folks have thought of that in deciding not to name the complainant

I don't know....do you think the people that make the kind of comments that get reported would do so if their home address was shown with each post? If yahoo! required a verified driver's license photo to be used as the avatar so everyone can see who's saying it?

As it is, people could just as easily obtain a second yahoo! account for reporting flamebaiters as the flamerbaiters do. Just my $.02

I've reported the losers who are dumb enough to ask inappropriate questions. And if I'm afraid of someone online...that'd be really lame too. And most of the time when I report people, I tell them that I did and they can go to my profile page and contact me through there so....it's not that big of a deal.

Personally, I don't report people unless it has something to do with child porn, abusing a child, etc. Other than that, I could give a rat's azz about what anyone says. However, if I did report someone I wouldn't care if they had my email addy. In fact, I'd dare them to show up on my doorstep!

Nah, they wouldn't report a thing if their email was readily available to the one they reported! What I'm wondering, If you don't like the content, don't answer it, just move on. If you don't like what you see on tv, you change the channel, right? Same principle here. To each his own, if you don't like it, don't respond. That is, unless it's child porn or some crap that pertains to it, then by all means, report away!

what's your problem with people who report others? They aren't doing anything wrong. Nothing happens unless the Yahoo reviewers agree it's a violation. Why are you posting material that's against the rules? If you don't like the rules, why don't you go start your own site? Maybe "PerverseAnswers.com"

I do report people quite regularly, and I'd be happy to sign my name to these reports if it were possible.

I think it's childish to call it "finking." I like this community for what it is, and I'm not ashamed to say that I try to help maintain its standards.

I'd want them to see it. Only the immature and ignorant feel the need to act the fool. It's their way of getting attention. More people should realize that if you ignore them they have a tendency to go away as they are not getting the responses they are looking for. Answering or talking to them about it only feeds their sick egos.
