Make sure you see all of your teammates AND all of the defenders...Hardly anything feels worse than throwing a pass right into the hands of somebody on the other team!
Work on ballhandling-be able to dribble to the right AND the left...I've always been told to work on your less dominant hand twice as much as the one you feel more comfortable with.
Know your plays- Read the defense and know which play will work best in each situation.
Don't ever be selfish! If there is somebody else on your team who is open- pass to them!
Work on your shooting...You need to be able to shoot the jumper if you find yourself open!
Hope this helps! Good luck! :D

Once you have the fundamentals, court vision, and unselfishness down the next most important thing to understand is that you are the floor general, the go to man. Know the plays backwards and forwards, be ready to lead the team, and be the spark-plug that ignites the team. A good point guard realizes that he controls the game by setting the tempo.

Its been said but its real important, learn to go both to your left and right side. That goes for dribbling, layups, and passing. Know your teammates as well. Know their strengths and weakness and play to their strengths. If they like the ball in a certain spot, get them the ball at that spot. If they handle certain passes better than others, then use those that are effective. You are the floor general, so you are the coach on the court. Pick your teammates up and encourage them. Congratulate them on good plays.
