Try telling the Dad to make sure that she is changed often & to make sure that inbetween changes that he comlpetely wipes her, apply a no perfume talc, and /or keep her on a Bunny Rug, when diaper rash is really bad and let her air out!It sounds that dad could use a few friendly tips. A good powder for baby, is one called (CURASH) also lanolin cream in a tube is very soothing for bubs.Hope this helps.

What has worked best for me is to let my son go diaperless for a while. I would usually give him a bath and then let him go diaper free about an hour. When he had a diaper on I used diaper rash cream with Zinc Oxide in it. I also used Vaseline on him one night and left his diaper a little on the loose side to let air flow through. If you do this be sure to put a towel down just incase. After doing this, his rash gone the next day. I am not sure if the the Vaseline was the reason it went away, but it is worth a shot!

The fastest working cream which I have used is the new Desitin Creamy which has vitamin E and aloe in it. Some children are just more sensitive than others, and can get a rash very quickly. Send an extra tube of it with her things when she goes with her daddy. It is very frustrating. You can also try using a non-talc baby powder or corn starch to put on with a powder puff after she is cleaned and ready for a fresh diaper. It has been an extremely hot and humid summer also, and I am sure this is contributing to the problem. Give this a try, hope it helps. Have a good night!

Remind him to change her diaper when it is wet. A&D is my most-trusted diaper rash ointment. I use the clear one in the yellow and brown tube. I tell you, it works wonders. I put it on her little bum everynight before bed after her bath and its like a raincoat on her so that when she pees it just runs off into her diaper and does not soak into her skin, therefore she does not acquire a diaper rash. Recommend your husband use it also. Goodluck and Im sorry to hear about your daughter having diaper rash, I bet it isn't fun.

destin is the best. BUT, make sure it is the desitin w/ 40% of the active ingredient, zinc oxide, not 10%. it's simply called Desitin Original. there are a lot of diaper rash cream out on the market and most have 10%. whenever her diaper is changed, and especially before you put her to bed, make sure her behind is clean and dry and don't cover all surfaces, unsparingly.

My daughter is prone to diaper rash...any change in diet will cause one...I've learned the ointments don't work, but I have found that if you add some baking soda to her bath water, that helps (usually works overnight when a rash is beginning)...and also corn starch does help...try that...

Try nice warm clean bath...and some baby powder.
Also, try using anitbiotic cream over diaper cream.
my son's rashes never last after one night of continuous changings and the above! Good luck!
P.S. My son's dad used to do the same thing...except he never noticed the darn rash! He was oblivious even to diarhea....which told me that Grandma was watching my son when he visited Dad's house...Grrrr....

Lets see.. if you are breastfeeding, you could express some milk and use that... Breast milk is liquid gold! OR if you're not, go and get some Lansinoh, it's made from lanolin, it breathes but creates a barrier between the skin and urine or feces. Good luck!
OH, do you two use the same brand of diapers? MAYBE she's getting irritated by switching?

On both of my girls I used this stuff called triple paste, I had to ask the pharmacist for it, they didn't keep it on the shelf. Paladin and Dr. Bordeaux's Butt Paste work well also. And no I am not kidding on the name. Target carries the last two mentioned. If she gets a blistered oozing rash it can be a sign of a yeast infection, OTC. Monistat cream can be applied EXTERNALLY only to clear this up.

My pediatrician says to add a little maloxx to the diaper rash ointment...she says it makes it a shell and takes out the redness...plus I know that they say not to put powder on a child but the liquid powder they make now works well enough too!
