You're right! We need a draft instead. Then the parents won't have to be involved in their ADULT children's lives at all.

Children? Kids? At the age of 18 you are an adult. The choice is made by the person. Immoral or moral depends on what you believe. As for the justification of going to war, would you rather fight radical Islam with a gun in your hands there or would you rather be blown up here while eating at a cafe? How about your family dying in an attack like 911?

No. And if you look at the reasons why they are going you will understand that their families are making a huge sacrifice so that you can be on here asking stupid questions like this. Our troops need your prayers and support. They definitely don't need to hear about your selfish attitude. Do you think that this is the first time or the last that MEN AND WOMEN this age will be asked to serve their country? All you have to do is be proud of them. Is that to much to ask? Can I throw your computer in the trash now? You definitely aren't using it for anything worthwhile.
I was almost politically incorrect there.

Iraq has done many positive things for us. The more terrorists we kill, the more we capture, the more we learn about them the easier it is to identify and disable there operations.
I joined the marines b/c i love the military, i love the special forces and how there able to accomplish the missions they accomplish, i love the brotherhood among the men i love the history behind it and i love all this crap you learn and accperiance you get in it.
Going to Iraq was just part of the job for me.
If my son wanted it, id tell him no, thretan him talk him out of it, but once he signed the contract, i would support him like you wouldnt believe.

I think they would be scum if they didn't try to talk them into it. If people had thought like that in the past then this country would not be here today. I am convinced that if they had media back in the 40's then WW2 would turned alot different.

Believe it or not, the Islamic Fascists that we are currenty fighting in Iraq would love to kill as many Americans as possible. They shoot school children in the back. Blow up women and children. Launch rockets at civilians. Strap bombs on their own children and send them into crowds to kill as many as possible.
They blow up airplanes. etc..........
If we don't kill them there. They will try to kill you at the mall!
They are a Culture of Death.
The answer is No. Those parents get it.
Also, these young kids who join the military, especially the infantry, will learn leadership skills and confidence in making immediate life and death decisions. These kids will leave the military and be incredibly successful in their lives.

A war is A war my friend and even if you think that it is wrong your kids need to decided for them selves. The idea of this war is to save us and them as good as we can. Is it working out??? Nope but that doesnt mean its wrong.

As a parent, I would do it. If my son wanted to go really badly, I would have to understand and let him make his own choices. If he was willing to die for his country ,so be it. I would try to dissuade him, bigtime, though.
