The most important thing I have achieved in my life is to have cleaned up from being on meth for 5 1/2 years. I've been clean for 2 1/2 years and every day when I wake up I am amazed that I am not waking up to that pipe anymore. The rest is all gravy. But I have 2 great adult children, 2 grandbabies and 2 more on the way. I have a 13 y/o who is well-adjusted in spite of me, and I met a great guy over 2 years ago at an NA meeting and we are moving in together next month. We both have jobs, and God has truly richly blessed me. I am able to do medical transcription again and make a good salary; my brain was so fried I didn't think I'd be able to do that again, and now I am, so I'm just peachy. My main goal is to die clean, and I am well on my way to achieving that one, One Day at a Time. God Bless.

Wow. What a question! Short term goals yes...learning to tie my shoes, learning to read...though I am not sure if they were actually goals. My goals now are surviving a marriage. And working on using my life for a good purpose. But oddly enough, I have achieved more things which I did not consider goals. And those things are the most important to me and make me who I am today. Surviving obstacles in my life. Those I just wanted to live to make it to the next day....and they became great accomplishments. Most of things I plan for goals never even get started. Life is funny that way. You plan one thing and then it changes your direction or frame of mind....

I am 28, and there is far more I want to do with my life. I am debating right now to either stay self-employed and see where I go or go back to college and finish my Master's. I have already achieved some things I am happy about, I do have B.A. (but so does everyone now), I own my own home, and I am a single mother of a very happy, healthy 3 year old boy.

Let's see.. education, career, marriage, children, large house and property in an upscale area, fancy cars, nice vacations, solid savings and investments, good friends.......hmmmm, nope I have not, but I'm still working on them. I hope I have lots of time left too! If a person has achieved all their goals, it's time for some new goals........ Why sit back? But you do have to take time out enjoy them too!

yes. I found some old goals and was very surprised to discover that I had met every single one of them. Of course, now I have set some new goals for myself, and haven't yet achieved those.

No, and I don't know how old you are but if you don't write them down and create action plans to achieve them you may get to be an old person like me who hasn't achieved them.

I just recently learned that and it is working well for me - Good Luck!

No and if anyone ever says they have, they're fibbing! The day you think you've got there, you're nothing but dead meat!! I still am working on all my goals (some are realistic and some aren't). That's what keeps life interesting (working towards your goals).
