it would be nice if we had a software that does the following. when someone sends u a virus/ad-ware/spyware....etc it would be very good if the software detects it and modifying it by making it nastier and send it back to the sender. but to let the sender know by saying the following.. you just tried to infect someones PC . your system will be crushing in 2, 1 and then crush. if possible to erase his hard drive. i bet he/she will never do nasty things like this again. am i dreaming or is it possible?? i would appreciate your opinion. thank you

the software has to be vary spot on. to analize the data, and make sure it knows for sure where the infection came from. the software must be conected to a server wher technicians are also anylizing the data. this would be very compicated. it woulden't be like a antivirus software, where it gets updates and stuff.

Cool concept, but, Your computer would not find the sender.
You see, lots of times, the virus sends out the message saying that it came from somewhere else. So the GUY that gets your NASTY, probably didn't send it. So he gets TRASHED for no reason.

Detection/elimante is the best thing we can do for now. Imagine, this:
You use your dream software, and it returns the “very very bad returned version” and it goes to the wrong person or computer?
Maybe more then a “oops” would be considered at this point and contacting your local attorney and your local bail bondsman for destroying someone’s property.
Not all virus/spam/malware/adware works when they send it to you. Do you really think the counter-measures would “Always” work also?
The person/computer that those attacks you mentioned are sent from are often not the ones that you can trace and “Verify” them with just software. We try in this country to believe all is innocent until proven guilty. Get my drift?
While your intentions are shared by many on how to stop people from doing such things, there are better methods out there if someone has been caught doing this. Castration/boobsectomy etc. would really make some of them stop and think again before they create such things. But that is just another dream and an old school way of handling things. I don’t believe the legal system is an answer either.
Until then, enjoy the aspirin, and keep up your guards.

We will never be rid of malicious programs because:
Bad Guys
People from all over the world are writing the programs, criticizing each other, and improving on what the other created.
Good Guys
People from all over the world are writing the programs, criticizing each other, and improving on what the other created.
You cannot create a program that will cover every mind that is writing against!
The Good Guys are always behind because their has to be a Virus to write for in order to create a program to eliminate it.
When the Good Guys know about the Virus, it is already out there. YOU ARE ALREADY INFECTED!
Anti Virus software is written to also look for what is called SUSPICIOUS CODE, but this is only code from the past, not what you and I might create in the future.
Nail more people and a penalty so harsh, that most other will say, "No way". Still, you will always have a Rectum, that will try just because they think they can beat the system or want to try to.
You almost have to instigate, 'DEATH TO THE UNBELIEVERS".
And you would still have a Butt Hole, willing to try!

It is impossible, because viruses tend to distribute themselves. And there is no way to really know where a virus ultimately came from without a whole lot of analysis beyond the scope of a single computer or network. And it is best for it to be that way too, because anything more would be letting Big Brother into our lives. All you have to do is be careful and keep your system updated and it will be very difficult for you to get a virus. Good luck!

It would be cool if you could get it to the original sender. Unfortunately, usually, whatever viruses you get are either sent by an unsuspecting third party or are from some website or download. One of these days, there will be a really good blocker, until then you just gotta pray that your warranty covers the damage.

It is very possible, unless this guy has a dynamic IP Address, and he could just unplug from net immedietly and wait like 4 hours and connect ot the internet and have a new IP Address and you will infect someone else.

Yes. It's possible. But the next day when you open the door there will most likely be a very disgruntled, very pale man with a crobar.

thats possible but the problem is that people who create viruses are just as determined to keep making viruses to defeat any system desighned to stop them, they make it their life long hobby and to create a system would only invite a challenge to them, sooner or later they would find a way to defeat such a system.

Well considering that most malware these days comes embedded in programs people install themselves, this is pretty much impossible. Very few infections come through email anymore.
