This may come a little late, but for the benefit of people having something spill on their electronic equipment, the first thing to do is NOT to turn on the power. Turning on the power will potentially short out the internal circuitry leaving you a damaged device.
If you spill coke on an electronic device such as a phone, do the following.
1. Immediately remove the battery
2. Assess up to what extent has the liquid (coke) penetrated your device.
3. Bring the device to a tech right away, coke contains acid and will corrode metal, do not wait for a few days before you have it repaired, this will increase the damage.
4. (not for the faint of heart), if coke has made its way into the phone, and you have tools to open the phone, open the phone up and rinse the electronics with distilled water, then dry it up with a blow dryer (but be careful not to overheat the electronic parts) or under the sun. When 100% dry, reassemble and pray it turns on.

Two things you can do- first of all dry it out in the sun for a little while- maybe take a day at least. Then try it. If it is still not working properly, take it to the mobile service shop. I actually dropped my old phone in a some tea- I left it to dry and was still working great for years after. I dried it outdoors on chair.

My daughter did something similar.
The sugar in the coke damages the printed circuit board on the keypad.
Like one of the others said, if you have insurance use it, if not dial a phone are really good, and some of there offers mean you get a phone practically free. Mention RAF scheme 07738128730 .

sometimes, under the battery, you'll see a little circular sticker that is normally white. This sticker is designed to detect water damage, which would void the warranty. If that sticker has changed color to blue or pink, you should just give up. In that case, if you don't want to go to a store and renew your contract, shop ebay.
But, if the sticker is still white, call your cell company and ask them to help with a warranty exchange. Play dumb like the phone just "stopped working" for no apparent reason.

My brother did this also. He did take out the batteries and let it dry. It worked for a bit after that, but ended up dying anyway and he had to replace it. Best bet is to take it back to the store where you bought it, and hope you have insurance on it.

Don't wast your money on a new battery, coke will f**k the circuit board... try and dry it, maybe a hairdryer would be good, but it's going to die again very soon...
