I currently own a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally edition. Now here's the scenario:

When I put my air on 1, 2 or 3, no air comes out. If I press the A/C button, it highlights but there is still no air.

When I put my air on level 4, it blows like a mad man, but the A/C button automatically turns off.

Any suggestions?

It can't be my air filter or most of my wires, they're all fresh and new. I am pretty sure its a blower or something. Any suggestions on what to do at this point? I want to avoid going to a mechanic.

your problem is the blower motor resistor, it controls blower speed, trust me

I had something like that happen before on a different kind of car. It ended up being the ground wire.

Your air filter could be dirty, you might need more air coolent, it's not getting cold because the fan could be broken or jamed, or you might need a part to be installed in the engie to help it along.

Either your blower motor or your switch is broken. Take it to a mechanic.

I don't have any suggestions, but you have my sympathy. I think of a 2002 as a relatively new car.

sounds like a switch problem. try some contact cleaner on the switch before you take a bath at the dealers.

I would say that something has clogged you pipes, you have run out of air con gas or your compressor/dryer has broken.

Sounds like your rheostat burned out, or "in stream" temp sensor.

You may need to put more freon in your car. Any local car part store will have it.
