I don't know what to get! Help me please! i'm looking into a animal other than a dog or cat, that is cute, playful, and/or handleable/affectionate.

flying squirrels by far! they are expensive and take a fairly high inital outlay.but they are my favorite cage animal . if you decide to invest, buy a pair. their first litter will pay you back their inital cost. make your own cage out of i/2 by1 in mesh wire. buy it from a hardware store. it should be about four by three by three feet high and wide. you can build a superior cage for far less than you can buy one. they are nocturnal(sleep days) but they are live wires in the evening. never grasp one tightly enough to restrain it. you will be bitten instantly if you do so. grasp it loosly then and quickly move it to where it should be then release it. when a squirrel gives up wiggling loose from your grasp you will be bit instantly. read up on the subject and good luck!!

Try a ferret. Just make sure that you work on their nipping as kits or they will continue to do this. Bitter Apple works great for this problem. My ferret is just as affectionate as my dogs!

A chinchilla! I have one, and she's great! They have the softest fur you'll ever feel, and they're usually very friendly and playful.

guinea pigs are easy to take care of and loved to be cuddled. they squeek to let you know when they want some treats :)
They are cute too!
