There are a few dependancies on this. First and foremost, it depends upon the level of committment. I will say this bluntly: I am not going to date someone who lives ten states away from me, that's ridiculous and it's not a relationship, it's a pen pal. A relationship involves interaction and you need consistant involvement for it to really work. On the other hand, if I truly love the girl, I'd consider going with her. If it's just a casual relationship and it's going nowhere, trying to maintain it from ten states away or going with her is pointless. If you're desperately in love, though, that kind of distance will cause jealousy, suspiscion and the relationship will fall apart.

I had a Girl friend who moved half way across the country. I would have stuck it out if she had been interested in getting married after college but she wasn't so I didn't see the point.
It's just as well in hind sight we weren't very compatiable.
