If parents allow their kids on-line unsupervised, they have no room to complain about my-space. The entire net can be a dangerous place and many kids don't realize just how dangerous it can be. My-space is not the problem, allowing kids to play on-line without knowing what is going on is the problem.

As a parent of a 15yo that has a page (and I have one also) I think that some of the kids on myspace give their parents a reason to freak out about what is said and certain things on their pages. Some of my sons friends (between14-17) say they are older then they are (which makes their profiles viewable to all..which includes creeps) and they have references to drugs and alcohol on their pages. I am lucky enough to have a kid that doesn't lie about his age and has appropriate stuff on his page.

of course because well.. myspace has so many fakes who need nudes and stuff and kids are being attacked by sexual predators and some parents are just mad because kids have been spending too many time on myspace to chat with friends and havent been getting enough exercise or distanting themself away from their family..

I don't think so. Most parents have never even heard of Myspace.

yes and no! Because my grandchildren all have myspace connections & I do to and they let me look at there spaces and are proud of them. they have nothing to be ashamed of. Now that's the boys. but one of our girls lets me see her space but won't let her parents. I think its because they make to much ado about it. of course you should always keep a check on your children and what there into because they have a special nack for trusting bad people but if you keep the doors of communication open you can prevent them from getting in trouble in the chat rooms. But you do have to put faith and trust in them and let them know all the traits of bad people and make them feel comfortable coming to you with anything that they are uncomfortable with or feel uneasy about . they have to know you won't freak out. That your the grownup that will take care of the problem quickly and precisely like a grownup should.

well at my school, the administrators went on to all of the students who went to my school & had a myspace and read everything on everyone's. kids got in huge trouble for having pictures with drugs and alcohol involved. it was all over the local news so a ton of kids parents made them delete their profile. i didnt have anything on mine that was bad, but my parents thought there were people on their that were going to get info on me they shouldnt have so i had to delete mine too. i guess it makes sense but i wish i still had it.

as long as father and mom are waiting to ascertain those protection precautions are being taken then it relatively is high-quality. the difficulty is it relatively is almost impossible to visual reveal unit each and every thing your newborn is doing on the computer. there are loads of risky predators available. in case you do no longer one hundred% have confidence your newborn and/or can visual reveal unit heavily you ought to stay faraway from myspace and different blogs that share SUCH own counsel.

no.. and if there are parents keeping their child under 18 off of it, they are completely right.

in myspace TOS you have to be at least 18 to use their site anyways!
