I agree, but think about the reasons for it. Society isn't the most stable place at the moment with all of the wars and such going on the world, and subconsciously, people need stability. A lot of pregnant teens and teenage fathers are also products of similar situations.
Republicans also cancel and eliminate services that educate youths about sex, pregnancy, and AIDS, which leads to a rise in young pregnancies.

Why does everyone assume a pregnant 16 or 17 year old became that way because of bad parenting? Why does everyone assume that the teen didn't use protection or planned to get pregnant. I did get pregnant at 17 while being on birth control (Oh my god). My fiance and I CHOSE to keep our child which was really no concern of anyone else. It's not like your ta dollars ever paid for our child. He worked his butt off for 3 1/2 years so I could stay home with our child. I still graduated high school with a 4.0. I had our daughter 2 months before graduation but I was finished with school 3 months before I even gave birth. Why does it really matter if a 16 or 17 year old has a baby IF they take care of the child? It doesn't. I'm not sorry I didn't choose to murder my child just for the sake of everyone elses opinions. Why complain about all teen moms? I get tired of MY tax dollars paying for other people's kids but I don't blame it ALL on teen moms.

It's the media. The birth rate in the 1950's was double with 15-18 yr olds then it is now. In the 50's girls where having babies at 15 then jumping on the back of a motorcycle and starting a family.

There are to many 13, 14, and 15 year olds having kids too. Even one child having a child is too much. I mean, look at me. I'm so busy with school and trying to get a good education that having a baby would almost completely halt my entire life in the future. I mean, think of how difficult it would be to raise the money and have the time for college when you had a child at fifteen.

Well in the past 2 years alone I think about 9 girls have gotten pregnant at my high school. Well at least that's how many kept the babies...I'm currently in a sexual relationship (and have been with only my boyfriendever) but I consistantly use my birth control. I think a lot of teenagers don't realize or just don't care about the consequences of not having safe sex. Teenagers also seem to have so many partners now a days...sorta sick

I take that offensively!!!I was pregnant at 16 and 17,and had 2 kids by the time I was 18.I don't regret it one bit.My daughter who is 3 months old is sitting here on my lap and my son is playing in his room.My kids are great and not all teens should listen to ppl like you who stereotype us.None of you are taking care of my children.Me and my husband got married when I was 16 and he was 21,and we take care of our own babies. So before you go saying 16,and 17 year olds look around cause its life.It doesn't matter how old you are as long as you can take care of them and give them what they need.I don't know what I would do without my kids, they are my life and they keep me from doing other things like drugs. When there older and in school I plan to have more.I am very mature for 18, and I was mature at 16 too!!!Teens have sex and babies.Now-a-days its normal not wrong.

Yes. I am 17 years old and pregnant with my first child. I am in my second year at the University of Miami. I have the support of my boyfriend of 5 years which is currently my fiance and I have the support of my family. It wasn't something that I had planned this early in my life but I am taking responsibilities for my actions. I will be continuing my education until I achieve my goals. I am very fortunate to having many caring and loving people support me.

Actually, women 24-28 have far more children outside wedlock that teenagers. Teenagers having children, as well as sexual activity, is a significant problem, and very damaging to their immune system, both male and female. Unfortunately, we keep telling teenager to act like adults, but when they do, we complain. Teenagers are not almost adults, or even close. Females don't reach adulthood until age 24, and males at age 30. The only reason males are declared adults at age 18 is because they can be drafted, but they are drafted at that age because their brains are still just so much mush and easy to manipulate. Females get it only because the males got it. If we want to address the problem of teenage sexual activity, and teen pregnancies, we need to stop treating them as young adults, and let them be what they are, children.

in conserving with which state you stay in, no longer some thing can particularly take position to him, first of all of your mothers and fathers ought to might want to press prices for statutory rape, or perhaps then, in maximum states the age of consent is 16, and likewise in maximum states, for statutory rape to be claimed, there might want to be a minimum of a three twelve months massive difference, say you've been 15 and he become already 18. so i'd not particularly problem to a lot about that. your mothers and fathers haven't any say in some thing. your infant ability you're making each and every of the options, they could attempt to impression your selection yet it is all they could do. and honey i ought to extremely try ASAP! if your already 2 months previous due you receives a suitable examining on a HPT and that is two months with out sufficient prenatal supplements on your infant the longer you wait the more severe it is on your infant! good success!!!

Oh yeah... it really sad. Especially when these kids bring a life into this world that they can't support.. they can barely support themselves never mind another. Then these new borns basically go through a miserable life... I know there is a strong media temptation to open the pants, but I don't know if people are noticing the ripple effects that it is having in our society. Something has to be done.
