Give him some Benadryl and rub some Caladryl lotion on the poor guy. Right now it sucks to be him.
It could be any number of things like an allergic reaction poison ivy oak or sumac a heat rash or any other list of things it could even be a food allergy. Get the kid some relief with the liquid Benadryl it goes in fast and lasts for 4 hours and get him in to see a doctor if it does not clear up by tomorrow. Poison ivy and oak can come in the air or off a pet even so he didn't have to touch the plant.

Check the bed If possible the bed is the problem and a new matress and covers may be in order. Lots of beds get old and even in the hotels they have to be changed yearly. Beds hold the dreaded bed bugs unseen to the eye but living underneath
20/20 had a whole blue light story about bad old matresses with springs that harbor this rash on children. Check for allergies.
See a doctor ASAP

Is he taking any medications? It could be an allergic reaction or maybe it's just a heat rash. Try some antibiotic cream or an ointment and if this does not work I would call his doctor. If it is a reaction to meds, keep a close eye on him. Call your doctor ASAP!!!

Have no idea, however apply some 100% pure coconut oil, the oil will take any heat out of the rash, and you will have some relief within 10 minutes. It must be 100% pure coconut oil, non-hydrated, no frangrance, no additives of any kind.

Your son probably has infatigo I just found out my daughter has it,and the doctor said she caught it from a child at school. The dots and itchy skin are common. Make sure you look to see if he has blisters forming. If so get treatment fast that stuff is highly contagious, and will spread like wild fire.

Has he been camping lately? It could just be a heat rash. Scratching spreads rashes so you should put a package of frozen peas on it to stop the itching, and maybe buy him some calimine lotion to sooth it.

Don't let him scratch. It can be an allergic reaction to something he ate. Keep his arms clean and put some Caladryl on it. And take him to the doctor.
