Pagent Advice!?!?

Question

I really want to do pagents. I want to do www.namiss.com. I want to know if someone did a National American Miss Pagent, if you have can you tell me what it was like. Was it fun, was it expensive and stuff like that because I'm willing to pay any amount to do a pagent. ***I know I have asked a question like this before but I wanted to get more advice and stuff if you could help then Thanks!!!!

Hi,

As a former small pageant organizer, I can tell you that it is a lot of fun. It can be very expensive though, the higher you go. The clothes, the pageant fees, dance lessons!, makeup and shoes!!. You'll also want a coach as you earn your way higher and higher. If you really want to do this, then you need to start small with your local pageants first. And if you are serious, you must work very hard. Everything you learn to do and do well will help you, dance lessons, voice coaching, giving speeches, fashion and style, modelling (if you have a modelling agency in your town, join it asap)and so much more I'd need a whole page. All in all, it is a huge investment in time, money and energy.
Of course it's worth it, but there are only spots for one person to "win" each pageant, so that means a lot of girls going home despite the hard work, money and time, with nothing. So the last thing you need to have is very thick skin..you will need to accept losses as graciously as winnings.

Oh yes, the most important advice. Always have a back up career plan. Don't risk putting all of your life into pageants.

Ok, I am about to be in my first pagent since I was a baby which I won. I have never done that and do not plan on doing it.

They perfer non-painted nails if you do put any nailpolish on put on clear. They like longer hair I heard, I am getting extensions put in and curling it (real hair not synthetic). Smile and look at the judges when walking, not just one but all of them.
