If you are a big drinker, I would go all-inclusive is the booze is free....otherwise, don't. There is soooo much to do and see there. The shopping in the market is fantastic because you can negotiate with them on their prices. You will get great deals if you do that. You also should go deep into the villages where hardly any tourists go. There is the best food, best money exchanges and best deals there.

Depends too much on the type of vacation you want to have...if you are a student going all inclusive is the best choice or if you are going in a family trip.
If you are a young adult coming with friends you might have second thoughts in order to enjoy great food and entertainment outside the hotel.
The all inclusive goes well if you spend all day in the hotel and party at night, remember all meals and snacks, beverages and complimentary rides are included.
Either way, Cancun will treat you NICE baby...enjoy!!!

Go all-inclusive at the "Oasis Cancun" resort (i only say this because i had the best time ever there) the only money i spent my whole trip was in the market. If you're most interested in the nightlife i'm sure you can buy a party package bracelet without going all inclusive at your hotel... for example if you're going to enjoy the sun and the day and not be drunk but you enjoy partying at night. i was the opposite. I only got out of bed in the day twice.

If you think about it all inclusive can be good option. All your drinks, and food are paid for. Usually in Cancun depending on which hotel you go to have a great selection of restaurants to choice from, normally only the bigger hotels. Most of the time you'll probably be eatting breakfast and lunch there at the hotel and dinner out. So, all togather it should be the better choice, if you're going to be at the bigger hotels. The smaller all inclusive hotels normally have one restaurant which is most likely a buffet and you'll probably get bored of that, but your drinks are all inclusive. So it depends on what you're looking for.

If you are going to hang around your resort then AI is the best, but if you are going sightseeing and will be doing a lot of eating and drinking elsewhere (be careful) you might not want to be buying food when you already paid for food. If you stay at a "Palace" hotel they have about 7 in the Cancun area and they will shuttle you between them allowing you to get around and still enjoy your AI benefit. You have a bracelet that says your a Palace guest so you can eat in any of the hotels. This was true at my last visit 11-04.

If you can afford it, hell yeah! Why not!!
Enjoy your vacation. I went to Cancun a few years ago - my first All Inclusive. I'm not a big drinker, but it was sooooo nice to wander around not having to worry about how much I was spending, and whether I was gonna run out of money before the end of the holiday!

There are some hotels that give you the option of paying all inclusive for the days you want. So you can plan to pay the days you want to stay at the hotel. The rest of the days dont worth it because there are a lot of places to eat and drink out of the hotel.

it's one of the best ways to travel if you don't have a lot of money.
You get drinks, food, and some activities.
If you're thr for 7 days, how much eating off the resort can you do? and are you going to go for every meal? even if you just eat breakfast and lunch you're still coming out cheaper than eating out every single meal and snack. I think an AI is an excellent value, I know some people don't, but if you don't have alot of cash it's a great price!
