... it happened so quickly, the streets, the houses, the cars ... the whole downtown was flooded the water rising fast... I was on the bus which got filled with water to the top but I escaped and only found safety on the 7th floor of a downtown building, the water didn't rise above the 7th floor......what does it mean?

"The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times."

Dream interpretation book states:
Escape from flood: "...subconscious is telling you will both solve current problems and benefit from the experience”

Dreamdoctor website:
“If a flood blocks your path while walking or driving a car, an “emotional hurdle” is indicated, that you must cross to reach your goal”

yes, number 7 has personal meaning...

so it's either do croos or don't cross for safety
hhhmmm... I give up!

you are not in control of your life. Your subconscious is invading the conscious mind. It has overtaken it. I hope the flood water was not murky cause that is bad.
The good thing is that you found safety. You are doing something to ebb the flood of anxiety reigning over you.
I had a similar dream during a time of excessively high anxiety. You were in a bus, I was in a hearse. And I had nowhere to go to safety during the flood.
The ground the streets and all that stuff is the conscious mind, the water is the subconscious mind. When the 2 meet in a dream it means that some visceral emotions are overtaking the rational mind. If the water is murky, the visceral emotions are bad.

You may want to play it safe and get pro help. And I could be wrong and you are just under a small amount of stress.

I agree w/ DreamDoc. Water is emotion and flooding is an overwhelming emotion. Your vehicle in the dream is public, impersonal. Not what you would probably like to be driving/riding in. (B/c you do not drive the bus, thus lack of control in your own situation - plus you feel it is a public situation) Downtown? Still sounds public. So you are safe from this seemingly overpowering element on the 7th floor? What does the number mean to you? Any personal significance? I would think about that. If none personal, look into the archetypal meaning (i.e. 7 deadly sins, gates, etc.)
Good thing you didn't drown!

Let me analyze this dream

flooding = troubles, responsibilities
Bus = your first support
7th floor = the limitation or safety zone

Seems like you are looking for a safety zone. You may feel insecurity about certain things in life. However, when it comes to trouble, you know how to find your support.. However, you have your own safety zone. You will not let trouble come through you. However, it may also mean you are trying to escape from responsibilities. Going to 7th floor seems like a safety zone to you, but it can also mean a place for you to escape or it means you don't want to face the trouble (flood). You projected flood as troubles and bus is your support to your safety zone.

I could be wrong, but this is how I see from your dream

That story rings a bell with me. I wonder if we have a connection happening. Do you live near a dam or a water way?

I have nothing symbolic for that description. Tsunami's have that possibility. I don't think I would expect that from a dam breaking. Perhaps that and torrential mountain rains could produce that effect, that rush. hmmmmm Now that my imagination's working, perhaps there is some symbolic interpretation possible.
Sounds like love to me.

Water means dependency. The fact that it stopped at a certain level means you are hold it at bay. You were also probably experiencing fear in the dream.
