There is a difference between c*m and c.u.m. They are not the same. A period after each letter denotes an abbreviation of something. C*m is from the Latin which means "with" or "together with" or "plus". For example, the attic c*m studio.
C*m is also used as slang for sperm. Most people today recognize c*m with the slang definition. Words change with time. In fact our Romantic English language is no longer Romantic but Eclectic. English grammar has changed tremendously. What used to be bad grammar is now proper English.
I put an asterisk in between the C and the M because Yahoo Answer watchdogs go a bit overboard and want to put three asterisks in lieu of the c-u-m.
