I'm trying premium gasoline for the first time. If it increases my fuel efficiency enough to jusify the extra cost (which I will find out soon), then I might stick with it, unless there is anything else I should know.

Unless your car calls specifically for it, it is a waste of money. I don't know for sure about the increased emmisions, but it does have more additives than regular unleaded.

You should use Premium only if your compression ratio is over 10. Other than that your wasting your money. As for the pollution deal, diesel engines (esp. the newest generation) is cleaner than petrol engines.
