my computer says i need to use the ipod updater to restore my ipod to factory settings. but i dont understand any of this and im getting fustrated. i've had my ipod for a year now. someone help!

You download it and then hook up your ipod. It will erase everything you have put on your ipod.

Go to iTunes.com and you can download it from the downloads section (they will probably ask what kind of ipod you have first). Run the program and it will give you the option to restore(clear all data) or just update the software.

push start and loo for ipod and then it will say ipod updater click on it and then it will work and if it doesn't than connect the ipod and then it will ask what kind and i t will work and if not buy another one

ipod updater updates the software that is installed on to your ipod...it doesnt erases ur files... it updates/installes new software on ur ipod so it can run more smoothly
