Use a dummy email, if ever asked for.
Why do you need an email id to surf web sites anyway?

You wouldn't be revealing your email address unless you typed it into some form or something. If you need to give out an address then go to yahoo options, preferences, "addressguard" and make up an address for that site. Neat feature.
Hope that helps.

Websites only get your email address if you submit them on a form. You're getting spam from somewhere else.
Get a junk email address, like hotmail or yahoo, for websites that need an email address.

The only way a website can get your e-mail address is if you give it to them. Short of installing viruses, there's no way for a website to get your e-mail address just by you surfing the site.

For sites that ask you for email and other personal info to view the site, give them fake info. Unless they need to send you a password, there is no reason you need to give them an actual email address.

Going onto a web site does not reveal your email addy unless there is a place for you to enter it. (type it)
There is a possibility they could see your IP addy but no one can send mail to that.

the best thing to do is make an extra email addy, like on yahoo or lycos........ just log in every couple weeks and delete all the email. you don't even need to open the email to delete. better yet if you mark it as spam....... lycos will blackball every address you mark as spam.
