As long as YOU are the only one going into that particular bathroom. If anybody else is allowed to go in there un-informed of the camera... you'll be in a heap of trouble. If you erect a sign warning of the hidden camera, well there goes the supposed benefits of it being "hidden".
If you install it, send the houseguests to another unmonitored facility.

I'm sure a judge would be entertained by your"security" reason. You generally secure the perimeter of your house.

Why do you need a hidden camera in your bathroom? Don't sound right? That is a question for the police.

As long as everyone that uses the bathroom knows that you have a camera in there.
If you don't tell everyone, then you could get in trouble.
Maybe you should put a small sign on the door to announce it.
Maybe you should only have it pointed at the window.

yes, it is illegal to photo someone in the process of executing bodily functions...even if your motive is 'security.' (Give me a break...security?) You might get some legal sway if you post notices that the people who use your facilities are being videotaped. On the other hand, you will be inviting civil suits which you will most assuredly lose. (Security hey...?)

yes, if you did it and you are not being a perve
spying on people who visit ,and it's kinda sketchy even if you are doing it to watch your own family members ....Gotta know more ....
