You better believe it! I do fancy myself quite the expert on telling others how to live their lives. I think I'm pretty darn smart and there should be some payoff for getting older. I read some of the things the younger people write and I just want to hold their hands and tell them everything will be okay. I'm sure someone in their 80's is thinking the same thing about the things I write!

I feel old when I read that some people don't actually know who "Dear Abby" was. It's too bad because she was such a huge part of so many people's lives.

I do sometimes. I can tell when a younger person is asking the question and I try to give them as much advice as I can. Like I did with all my kids growing up and especially in their teenage years. I can seriously say, at age 52, "Been There, Done That" when the questions are asked and can answer with a lesson I learned.

I remember "Dear Abby" and "Dear Ann" and read them religiously. I miss them both.

More like Dear Alby. I don't dispense advice to people unless I really know what I'm talking about. Even in normal conversation, if the discussion is about something I know nothing about, like brain surgery,I listen. I think there are lot of people who participate in Yahoo Answers who are genuine in their wanting to help others, and each is to be commended for their efforts. I have learned a lot, and also laughed a lot since I started with Y/A. I've tried to teach a little and make people laugh as well. It's become somewhat of a hobby.

Sometimes I wonder if I'll be perceived as if I feel I'm like Dear Abby. Does that make sense? I'm pretty confident, but sometimes wonder if people will wish I'd just leave a two word answer instead. :-)
