Try resale and consignment shops in your area. If you are willing to spend a little time, you will find, in between the stuff you would not be caught dead in, some brand new items, some designer items, or some decades old but gently worn stuff that is very retro and funky. It could liven up your sense of style at a cost you can live with. Like antique stores, some of the store personnel will negotiate with you on price, especially items they've had "hanging" around for a long time.

Where do I begin....
if you don't mind used I would try somewhere such as Buffalo Exchange or Crossroads Trading Co...they have such unique clothing that is so inexpensive because the majority of it is slightly used (but still in great condition)
If you want brand new...
i would try H&M although you have to go to a big city such as San Francisco to buy...
or try Forever 21 (in many malls) or Wet Seal( in many malls)...there clothing runs pretty cheap but lasts a good while and is very very cute and stylish (tops are about 10-20 on average)

Even Target has some cute things.!!
Good luck...and just shop around.

Have you heard of H&M? It's pretty cool. They have styles that are always up to date, and people can't tell if you're wearing designer fashions, or H&M! Also try Gap.... Although they've gone a little more expensive over the past few years. I'd also try searching sales at Express, and some outlet stores. hope you find what you're looking for!

Steve and Barry's has lots of decent quality clothes for under $7. I don't know if they're a local-specific thing to Western new York, but you can probably look store locations up online.
