If your car requires premium unleaded fuel, then this is what you need to put in it. High-compression engines like the one in your VW can knock and ping and long-term use of a low-octane fuel can and will damage your engine. Get a car that runs on 87 octane gas or use the expensive stuff in your ride. Gas is still cheaper than a new engine.

If you mean regular as in leaded. NO
If you mean regular as in 87 octane, probably.
However, I wouldn't recomend it.

cars are built to run on regular gasoline
it'll run smoother on supreme, but regular wont hurt a thing.
^Providing its not a diesel
