what makes a better video card ATI or Nvidia?

the difference between the two companies is so small
but there r timees that 1 company whould be better than the other like whne Nvidia relesed it's Geforce 5 series "FX", the ATI card was much better"9xxx series"

but when Nvidia relesed the Geforce 6 series it was much better than ATI X800 series
but now both r good cards " Geforce 7 and X1900"
it's up to u to choose what u like
i love ATI cards, but this don't mean that it's the best
Note: i wanna c what is gonna happen when both companies relese their DirectX 10 Cards, it's said that ATI will win this round

This all depends on preference really. Ati makes the fastest single card the X1900xtx. Nvidia claims to hold this spot with their flagship card the 7950gx2 but it's not a single card.. its basically 2x 512mb 7900gts connected

Ati has better IQ and can handle HDR+AA and makes the fastest single card.

Nvidias Sli is better than crossfire and they have better midrange cards.

So like i said it's all about preference you cant go wrong with either company.
