i turned my pc on 1 day n ALL the desktop icons have dissappeared from view ( u can still see them if u go to my comp then the desktop folder but thats a f*kin pain) from every time since then theyve never come back n nothing will show on my desktop except the background- the relly annoyin thing is the computer jus decided to do it 4 no reson at all

thanks 4 ur help evry1- it was such a simple problem which i solved with ur help- my icons are now showing- FINALLY!!! if it were up to me u wud all get best answer for ur effort- except the d*ked who complained about my spelling- nobody else was b*tching about it they all helped me so get a life!

right-click on the desktop
at the top you will see "arrange icons by"
on the menu you will see an option to "show desktop icons"
If this item is not checked, click it to check
if it is checked, I'm stumped.

Right-click on the desktop
Select "Arrange Icons by..."
See if the "Show Desktop Icons" near the bottom got unchecked

Try highlighting the icon in the folder and dragging them back to the desktop. Also check and see what's in the recycle bin, if they're in the Recycle Bin go to File > Restore all items to put them back.

2.Click the Desktop tab.
3.Click Customize desktop.
4.Click the General tab, and then click Restore Default.

Turn the active desktop on, restart your computer, then turn it back off.. That should take care of it.
right click the screen
box opens up
properties
desktop tab
customize desktop at the bottom left

Try re-activating your desktop. Otherwise left click on your screen and see what the options are set at. Worst case scenario. you have a virus or you need to reformat your comp.
