I realize that I will never meet him; we do not even run in the same social circles. #1 He is married, #2 I understand now this may be an unhealthy obsession with an unattainable object of my desire. #3 I don't delude myself that he would even be attracted to me even if he was single. I just need a kick in the head I suppose. How do I possibly break free of this school-girl crush I have on Robert Smith? For Christ's sake, I am a grown-up woman with adult responsibilities. Although younger, I am from his generation. How do I extricate him from my thoughts and desires??? I am truly obsessed like I have never been before.

I know, it's hard.
I used to (and still do, to some extent) have a major obsession with Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day. I can see how your obsession would be hard to get over, just like mine.
All you have to do is just try not to think about it...as hard as it may seem. Don't worry, you will get over it soon :) Just keep working at it

just get over it. have you seen his myspace page? i know what you're talking about. Robert Smith is posssibly the coolest most talented person EVER. i don't think there's anything wrong with being extremely into a famous person, as long as that famous person isn't Paris Hilton.....Robert Smith is a freakin GENIUS. Why the hell wouldn't you be obsessed? But if it's interferring with your life, maybe you should go see a shrink.

When I was 16 I had a huge crush on Prince. My grandmother once told me that if I wanted to get over him I should do this:
Imagine what he must look like sitting on the toilet constipated.
I know its gross, but it worked!
