Right to carry a concealed weapon, in all states, would result in a dramatic decrease in the crime rate.
Let the law abiding citizens exercise their right to bear arms, I will guarantee you a much reduced incident of crime.

Take away the bulk of their funding. Simply legalizing and controlling sale of narcotics would be a huge blow to organized crime.
Also if people couldn't get more coke in the middle of the night because the store is closed, they wouldn't rob old people to keep their binge going. They wouldn't rob the narcotics stores because they would have jewelry store level security, if not higher. I realize I'm getting imaginitive but it's because I've given this issue a lot of thought.
When did anyone try a non-violent type of mass protest like I described in my question? Why did it fail?

Number one, if it is announced and testified to in court that a person uses any kind of drug from marijuana on up, that person should not have the right to take care of or have children in their home. I guesstimate that there is at least 50% more crime going on than most of us know about due to the fact that courts and police allow drug users to take care of children, sometimes not even their own, and have them in the same households where they do their drugs. Everyone knows that a cop can't come into your house even when a citizen calls in and says they know you are doing drugs and exposing a minor to them. Courts intentionally step on and treat unfairly and disrespectfully wholesome parents while handing over children and babies to drug users who have the money to pay for lawyers. Maybe I too should become a drug user/dealer so I can get rich and hire a lawyer. Maybe then I'd get some respect in court and get my full custody back once and for all. I am the only one who rightfully deserves it anyway.

Clearly the attitude of "Make more jails" isn't working.
You're better of analyzing WHY crimes exist and try to deal with the root
of the problem then just jailing the symptom. It is far cheaper than
paying for new jails and for prisoner upkeep anyways.
Programs for getting people off drugs, for teaching prisoners useful
skills, etc, have to be better than what's going on now.

1st there is no 'crime wave' just a lot of bored, unmotivated kids
Reduce K-12 class size by half, and fund schools so that small schools do better... break apart big schools

If the media would stop sensationalizing crime. There's a start. There is actually not more crime than ever, it's just reported more.

Take away the hot coffee, tv's, cigarettes, gyms and hot food. Put the prisoners to WORK. Maybe they can do all the jobs that legal Americans don't want like cleaning tiolets and garbage off of our highways. The inmates are running the prisons people!

Stiffer penalties, equal treatment for all - no matter what economic background they are from, and holding people accountable for THEIR actions. If we did those three things, crime would drop.
