When I start play tennis I have wooden 'Slazenger' with natural strings. Believe me or not it was a good racket at least better than many oversize, extra long, super power and blinking rackets today. In that time it was obligatory start to play with wooden racket for better ball control. Now is more easily to do that with great variety of rackets on current market.

I would go to the web site of the brand to research the racket's age. The price will vary by market. If you want to sell it, of course ebay is a good place to get a general idea of the price, but I would also take it to a couple of local tennis pros and see what they have to offer as far as advice.
