Yes. Many.
Those few (OK, not so few, but not all) who violate their ethical responsibilities give the entire profession a bad name.
What you need to understand about lawyers, is that "right" and "wrong" are fuzzy moral concepts that don't have a clear place in the law. Lawyers are required to follow ethical codes enacted by their state bars, which define what is "right" and "wrong" for them. They may or may not match up with anyone else's definitions.
And granted, there are a lot of lawyers out there who violate their ethical responsibilities. But that's a separate issue (see above).
Lawyers are also required to obey the laws as written and as interpreted by the courts. Those laws also don't always match up with what other people might define as "right" and "wrong". For example, the US Supreme Court has said that it is acceptable for a city to take someone's home away to build a shopping mall. (Kelo v. New London, 2005). Most people believe that's not "right". However, it is legal. And if the lawyer is faced with that dilemma, they have sworn an oath to follow the law.
So, "right" and "wrong" aside (because they have too many meanings), there are a lot of attorneys out there who do their best every day to uphold the high ethical standards set for their profession.
And sadly, there are many who don't. Which gives the rest of us a bad name.

Yes. My father was a lawyer and my brother is currently a lawyer and both were the type to follow the law to the letter with all t's crossed and all i's dotted and acted for the better good. Unfortunately, as with any profession you always get the power monger types that ruin lawyer's good names. A lot of lawyers are disgusted by the actions of other lawyers and they can't do much about it but try and prevail. Ask around and hopefully you will find a good lawyer because, I promise they do exist.

I'm sure there are honest lawyers. Obviously, many are dishonest and try to take advantage of those who do not understand the law. Judges can be honest or dishonest also. If you rise to a high level as a judge I think it's a lot harder to remain honest.

Of course there are. No one profession has a monopoly on being crooked , there's always a few rotten apples in every profession to spoil the barrel.
Have recently had to go to court and the Queen's Counsel was very good at representing me as were the criminal investigative unit.

Like any profession, there are always a percentage that are unethical or incompetent. Other than public perception, I am unaware of any evidence that people in the legal field are any more or less corrupt that people in other fields. The vast majority of fellow attorneys that I know are very fine people.

I agree with you 100%. I know all of what you said to be true because I and my family who are wholesome church going law abiding citizens have been s**t on by all of them for the past 3 years! My child has been handed over for shared visitation to a drug user and her criminal son because I could not afford to have a lawyer in court. I don't even like lawyers because they all act like robot gods. "GIVE ME ALL OF YOUR MONEY AND I SHALL GIVE YOU THE SHAFT IN RETURN" is what they seem to be saying to me everytime I speak to one. They never ask the judge to give you what you really want and what you paid them for to beging with. And judges are absolute crackpots twisting truth and reality into some kind of weird and psycho Alice in Wonderland scenario. The world we presently live in is so corrupt, good law abiding people are going to jail because jaded judges and lying lawyers put them their. I was almost one of them, and my only crime was to keep my daughter away from the drug user, not even her criminal son aka my daughter's father. Because he has a criminal mind, he lied about his visitation with his daughter and thus, I was almost put in jail by the last judge in family court. This happened because the judge would not take my police report, and would not let me speak in defense of myself. She screamed at me like I was a murderer or something, telling me to shut up or she's throwing me in jail, and I hadn't said anything except, "Can you please review my police report?" I also was not even sworn in on the bible. It's sickening! I live through this menagerie every day of my un-free life and I have never done anything illegal or bad in my 41 years of living. I shake my head in disgust at these pigs who run our country and sympathize with all who have to endure their sick deciteful minds. Evey Vendetta....not vengeance.
