No way. My Sox have been breaking my heart for all of my 34 years (Well, actually 30 since I started watching baseball when I was 4) and I've seen this almost every year. They start hot, slump, get hot, slump real bad (End of summer slump), and finally miss the post season by a few games at most. If they do make it, they won't win it.
At least I have seen them win it all once in my lifetime.

They're ruinin' ma summah!!!

No, and i will tell you why. The starting pitching is horrible. Beckett is either outstanding or awful, and while inconsistent performances might get you by in the NL West, its not gonna fly in the AL East or Wild Card. After Shilling, it's just no consistency. Plus, the defense's errors are way up, as many after the all star break as they had before, and Papelbon hasn't been anything more than average (2 blown saves against the royals?!? cmon). Ortiz and Many are a great combo, but not enough to carry the team. I probably wont get the best answer for this cuz youre a sox fan, but sorry... thats the way it is.

Nope. The Red Sux need to pull there heads out of there show-off butts. The Yankees are taking the East and the White Sox have the Wild Card.

I am a Sox fan, but I don't think they have enough pitching to get out of the AL East or beat out the Twins, White Sox , or Tigers for the wildcard. My predictions:
Al East - NYY
AL Central - Detroit
AL West - Oakland (best pitching)
Wildcard - Minnesota

Of coarse they will. Not only will they make it, they will win there division. They are already gaining on the yanks again. They play the Yanks this weekend 5 games at Fenway. They will win all or most of these games and be ahead of those dam Yankees again. Then they will stay on top till they win the World Series again!

I think they will make the wild card. My money is on the White Sox to take over the and win the central with the Tigers crumbling under the pressure and missing the playoffs.

I most certainly hope so.

I'd Love to see Detroit & Boston in the ALCS.
