Mr Spock is pretty retarded. there are no 2.4GHz CPUs for notebooks.
choose one of the following notebooks depending on your budget and you will be fine. only suggestion is, go for a Core Duo processor.

You might consider a few lessons in English and grammar also.
Unless you are running a large company, a beginner laptop should do you well. Dell has good support. Be sure to register and join the Dell Community Forum after you get set up.

Don't worry about the name. Buy something reasonably priced with a clock speed of 2.4 Ghz or better. If the primary reason you are buying this is for school, then a super fast computer with the bells and whistles won't benefit you in any substantial way.
