Fill up your tank and write down the mileage (on the odometer) or just reset your trip odometer to zero. Then drive till you are almost empty (without filling up in the mean time) and find out how many gallons it takes to fill the tank back up. Then figure out how many miles you went since the last time you filled up (subtract the number you wrote down when you filled up the first time from what the odometer says when you filled up the second time) and divide that number by the number of gallons (this will be displayed on the pump under the dollar amount) it took to fill up. The result will be how many miles to the gallon you are getting.

After filling up your tank, clear your trip-odometer to 0. The next time you fill up, divide the miles on your trip-odometer by the number of gallons you put in your tank. That will tell you what you want to know.

Yes Divide the number of miles driven on a full tank of gas by the number of gallons it takes to refill the tank. Ex: 360mls / 12gals= 30MPG's

exactly what you said

Fill your tank...

Drive 100 miles or so...

Fill your tank again...

Take the gallons your used,(added)

And divide this into the amount of miles you went

Like;

Drove 135 miles
added 15 gallons

15 into 135= 9

that is 9 mpg...

☺
