There was talk in florida about doing that the Real Estate market there sucks and there lots of condos sitting and not selling

Not quite condos into apartments, but there are some Condo conversions that are failing to sell the minimum number of required units in a specified period of time and are reverting back to apartments.

However, these buildings never actually became condos with seperate ownership.

They usually go the other way. Condos are worth more than apartments.

Chris N. is right...saw it on tv and read it on the web...might be happening more nation wide or in certain markets if interest rates rise and price people out of buying

Sometimes owners rent their units so it is like an apartment, but I have never heard of a reverse conversion.

Nope....i usually see them going the other way...apts. into condos.
