since it gives you the same hormones as you get if your pregnant, if i were to take a pregnancy test would i test positive even if i wasnt pregnant?

i don't think so, ask your doctor for sure. good luck on depo, it made me crazy. i had to be on prozac and i gained a ton of weight!

almost all birth control simulates pregnancy through hormones.
(depo included)
a pregnancy test measures the amount of hcg(pregnancy hormone) in the blood or urine.
if you took a test right now, it would probably give you a false positive.
i'm not a doc, and i've never had the shots, but i have had pills.
any questions should go to the dr. who gave you the shot.

NO, I was on the shot for 5 yrs. It will only show a positive result if you actually are. You can get preg. on the shot- I did twice! But it ended quickly in miscarrage.
Not the norm but it is possible, and after 5 yrs of being on the shot- I was pregnant 6 months later!

no i didnt test positive when i took a test while on the depo. take care. oh yeah i saw some one elses answer and i too went crazy. i was the biggest b*itch possible.ask my husband. i will never get back on depo ever. but good luck

I don't think so because I've been on depo for 2years and you don't feel like you're pregnant. Wouldn't u feel it?? Around your third shot though you will stop gettin you period (bet u can't wait), but you have to get alot of calcium.

I've been on it for a decade, and the hormone is synthetic...I wouldn't think you'd get a positive pregnancy result...it's also what's used to chemically castrate child molesters...

No in fact each time I went to the doctors with my shot, they would do a urine preg test. It was always neg. If it was positive they would not give me the shot.

No,it wouldn't.I am on it but there were a few times I thought I was pregnant anyway-I took a pregnancy test but I wasn't.

I'm going to say no also. Also, I was psycho too. I didn't even want to have sex when I was on it. I also gained about 35 lbs in just 9 months!! I HATE IT. My recommendation is to try something else. I'd never use it or recommend it.
