When I try to IM someone it gives me a message back that they are using a different version. What do I do now?

I've tried to IM several different friends and every time I get a message back that they are using a different version of Yahoo Messenger. They IM me back but I can't see anything that they've sent. What can I do to fix this?

it may be your preferences are blocking the type font they are using as well. Try changing that in your preferences. I've often talked with people using a different version of yahoo then me, so that don't matter.
