I wouldn't recomend you doing it over the internet, So why dont you try to call him, and tell him then. But if its not possible.. say something like... " look we've known eachother for some time now, your a real great guy. I mean your sweet, funny, charming, smart..and so on.... and well lately I have been feeling for you. And well I think I like you.
Something like that.. I guess

ok, first of all. don't tell him that you like him....at least not on an IM like that. it's really impersonal to do it that way. and it'd be better to do it in person so that you can see the expression on his face and you get an honest answer...i've tried to tell someone on aim and it really didn't go well...and those kind of things haven't gone well for other friends either......trust me, it'll be worth it to do it in person
