Shell peas, drop the pea's in boiling water, let come to a boil, just so the peas get hot through and through. Drain the water off, cool off peas with cold water (with Ice), leave them in cold water until they are cold through and through. Pour off the water. Or dip out the peas with a strainer. Bag them right away in freezer bags, store in freezer until needed. I have had them in the freezer for almost a year. Great, still good. I have used this way for many years, as most people/farmers do.

Leave them in the pod, put them in a plastic bag, and put them in the refrigerator. The vegetable drawer is best if you've got one, but they will stay fresh in the pods for at least 3 or 4 days in any part of the fridge. It's usually best not to wash fresh produce before you store it, because that can start mold, etc. You can wash them before you prepare them for eating if they are the edible pod kind. If they are shell peas, I wouldn't even bother washing the pods.

Rinse them in cold water, dry them off, put them in a ziplock, and into the fridge.
