frist day: a binder with paper and pens. A backpack is also nice.
Most teachers will start teaching the frist day, while others will do a "getting to know you" thing. That way you can take notes if needed and you can get an idea for what other things you could need in the class. You might also get a book for each class, so either know your locker combo, or have than backpack ready. That night go out shoping for supplies.

For now just come in with a notebook of somekind and some pencils. Your teachers will let you know what you need. As a teacher myself, I dont like my students to buy supplies before I tell them what exactly they need. This prevents buying supplies that you will never use.

It really is the same as grade school, but cooler. This is what I did, and it helped keep me really organized. I had a binder, and the same number of dividers as subjects. This year, I have 5 subjects that I need room for, so I have 6 of them. I use the clear sheet protectors as dividers, and put pictures and stuff like that in them so it always looks nice. But you can use whatever you want. I also got those binder folder things, and put one of those for each subject, and a few extra in the back. Then of course, I put filler paper to take notes. Thats what I have for all of my classes, and its just the general thing that I carry around. Thats just about all you need in college, but sometimes in high school the teachers will make you have a seperate notebook for their class. If so, just get one of those for the classes you need. Or, you can have the binder for things like homework or handouts, and notebooks for notes. I did a lot of that in high school. A big tip for high school is to carry your homework and stuff like that for all your classes everywhere, which is why a binder works so well. If you have seperate folders for everything, you might pull out the wrong one and the teacher might not let you go back to get the right one.
You will need pencils and pens, but thats kinda obvious. I would also get a nice assortment of either colored pens, thin tip markers, or highlighters. What I do to organize my notes is organize them by color. For example, I'm majoring in psychology, so in a class of mine I might have mental disorders blue, terms black, and random notes purple. When I write notes, I use about 10 to 15 colors per class, and when I go back to study for a test or do my homework, its so much easier. By doing this, you know what you are looking for and you dont need to read your notes to find one line, but just look for that single line by organizing it by colors. Also, always have computer paper in your binder so that you can draw out diagrams.
Get a backpack or messanger bag to carry around to your classes and just keep the basics. The binder, the books you NEED, and the notebooks you NEED. Try to figure out within the first few days how often you can go to your locker to switch them out. Although you may want to bring around everything so that you dont need to go back, its not a good idea. Just dont do it. Bring around some pens, calculator, and pencils. You dont really need much more than that.
This isnt really for school, but it will make your life easier. Go out and get a locker organizer. Something with shelves. If your locker is a mess, you wont be able to find anything and you want to be on time to your classes. I had three sections to my locker besides the top shelf. The top shelf was all random stuff: extra pens, extra paper, things that I might need sometime later but not at the moment. Then came the hooks, and where the rest of the empty space was, I had two stackable organizers. On the very top where it started, I kept something random like an extra pair of shoes, or a project that was due, or whatever I needed for that day. On the shelf, I kept the books for my morning classes before lunch and their notebooks, and on the very bottom of the locker, I kept my afternoon books and notebooks. Doing it this way made it so easy to just run to my locker, find what I need and run back.
Good luck!

You will need some pens and pencils, notebooks with paper, binder, maybe 3 punch hole, folders to put your homework, if you want a backpack, money for lunch, erasers, calculator, maybe a white-out pen, etc.
