If you are talking about the Yahoo Avatars (the cartoon faces) you see with users' names, here is how to get them.

Click on the word "Home" just below the green search bar.

Then click on you screen name just above your point total.

Then click on Add Details.

You will get the option to choose what you want to use for your picture.

Pick avatar and submit.
