As it is a vector quantity, hence, it refers to the two changes in acceleration ( negative and positive) and change in direction

As stated, I can put anything at all in the space after 1,2 and 3.

If you're trying to define acceleration, you're on the wrong track, even ignoring the ? being in 'chemistry'............
