You dont bathe a fish, you get water cleaner to put in the fish tank, and it brightens the color of the fish, and keeps bad stuff out of the tank. Also, change the water

Yes you should definitely give your fish regular baths. I suggest that you do it in or near some water because fish baths require lots of water. Never use soap as it makes fish have gas and then those little bubbles at the top of the tank become toxic. If one should happen to break you will experience fish farts, and they are not very desirable. Oh one more thing never give your fish a bath when they are drinking water. They require at least 8 -8oz. ounces of water per day and if you disrupt the cycle you may have a dehydrated fish. A tooth brush will work fine for scrubbing your fish but beware they may get addicted to the scratching motion and start to bug you daily for a back scratch.

I have had this fish for over a year, and I've never even heard of fish bathing. It is still alive and thriving, so I really don't think you need to worry about it. I guess if you really wanted to know, then you could go to a pet store and ask.

Bathing a fish is done to destroy external parasites that are on the fish. It also known as dipping.
Usually it's done by placing a freshwater fish in water with a high salt concentration for a few minutes (salt water dip or salt bath), or placing a salt water fish in fresh water for a short duration (fresh water dip or freshwater bath). This procedure kills parasites by osmosis. If done incorrectly it could also kill the fish.
This is a risky procedure and best left for experienced fish keepers.

seriously? i don't think you need to bathe a fish. i mean they're in water all day. but if you really want to try washing it (with no soap i guess) with a wet paper towel or something while its in clean water.

But seriously...
You just need to keep the water clean.
A fish will die from breathing dirty water long before they actually get dirty enough to need to "take a bath."
