This guy at work has been married 6 years- has a 4 yr old and a step child- he just turned 40 and works all the time- the wife is now pregnant-- problem is- he is flirting and drooling after women at work all the time and has been for a while now- I think he'd cheat if the opportunity came round- whats up with this?

It may be that he'd cheat on his wife & it may be that he's just flirtatious (yes, some guys are like that). I had a friend who used to flirt with all the young ladies, but he'd never cheat on his wife. However, there are some who definitely would cheat on the wife (especially if she's pregnant & he's not getting sexual satisfaction at home). The problem is that unless you actually see that line being crossed & you don't know him well enough, it can be hard to tell which this guy is.

I agree with the girl who said mid-life crisis. It's classic, really. Being pregnant and having one child already, his wife probably wants nothing to do with him. Let's face it...life between married couples can get really boring and some men just have low self-esteems, they can't take it. They also aren't as emotionally open as women are. A woman would go right up to her husband and ask him if he still thinks she's attractive. But men don't. In fact, they don't like to be vulnerable at all. It makes them distinctly uncomfortable. And they won't ask for help when they're feeling that way. It's not right, no, but chances are really good he just wants to know he's still attractive.

Sometimes a man has sexual urges, and flirting and drooling are just a way of acting out these urges. Secondly, many woman like this, and if they dint, they should say so...and not encourage the advancement. Thirdly, what business of yours to put a value judgment on him, unless this makes you feel uncomfortable. You can ruin a person by saying things like this, if you dont know its true. You should be very very weary about saying this to others unless its a supervior, stating this should not be allowed in the workplace....end of story

People are gonna flirt, men and women. His current home situation does not change things. If he wanted to cheat, he could have done so by now whether or not he's attractive. See if you can get one of his friends to tell him he may be going overboard though.

I'd stay out of it, but if it bothers you, call him on it. Tell him that his behavior is disgusting and since everyone knows his situation, it's even more repulsive. Chances are he's only been doing it because everyone lets him and accepts it. If you embarrass him about it, he'll quit, or at least think twice to do it in your presense. As far as why he does it? He's just a pig who's super horny because his wife isn't giving him any.

Your right if the opportunity was there he would be cheating. Next time he comes around,ask him if would act that way in front of his wife? That should cool him off. Or if it really a bother, talk to your Supervisor. That should REALLY cool him off.

mid life crisis. Some think that this is a joke, but no it is serious. Mid life crisis, he still wants to know that he is just as sexy as he once was, and his wife who is probably not wanting him to touch her (some women get like that when pregos) so he is looking for it else where. Not only do I think this guy is a pig, but it does happen

Sounds like a sexual harassment lawsuit waiting to happen.
Tell the HR person or his boss. Have them tell him to knock it off.
All it takes is one person to be offended and complain, and suddenly you have a big lawsuit, huge lawyer bills, uncomfortable employees, a tremendous amount of wasted time, focus lost on your business, etc., etc.

As long as he is leaving it at flirting there is no harm. I realize it makes you sick to your tummy as it would be just keep an eye on him and try and warn off women from him make sure they all know he is married because other then that there isn't alot that can be done..
