If you actually look at the numbers, no more ships, planes, etc. disappear in that area than any other comparable stretch of ocean with that much traffic. But it makes for a good story, huh?
"The number of wrecks in this area is not extraordinary, given its size, location and the amount of traffic it receives. Many of the ships and planes that have been identified as having disappeared mysteriously in the Bermuda Triangle were not in the Bermuda Triangle at all. Investigations to date have not produced scientific evidence of any unusual phenomena involved in the disappearances. Thus, any explanation, including so-called scientific ones in terms of methane gas being released from the ocean floor, magnetic disturbances, etc., are not needed. The real mystery is how the Bermuda Triangle became a mystery at all."

Statistically, no more people disappear in the so-called Bermuda Triangle than in any other region of the oceans of equal size around the world.

The Bermuda Triangle happens to in the center of the drug running trade. When boats disappear it's because they were unfortunate enough to cross a murdering drug runner, and that's the truth, believe me I know, after living in Fort Lauderdale Fla. for 15 years.

We know that strange disappearances take place there. Mystery always fosters active imaginations. Once all the facts are known, it will make sense. We just don't have all the facts yet. Keep in mind that you never hear about people who go through the triangle and nothing happens.

True, l obviously something happens, not sure what. There are so many documented cases of mishaps in that small area unlike others. I think it is some magnetic or some type of interference that messes w/plane dials and causes plane crashes, sometimes the weather is to blame too. Cool question.

You can't help but stop in and one thing leads to another and everyones buying drinks, then you drink and drive and boom, sunken lost ship and crew.

I think you haven't learned how to filter your input information yet. No more 'disappearances' have occurred there than anywhere else when adjusted for the heavy traffic in that area. Movies are NOT science!

Gas under the sea bed bubbles up making ships sink and causing plane crashes w. huge changes in water then air density.

i saw a doc on it- its some sort of magnetic thing that interferes with communications- it is not the dissapearences themselves which make it famous, it is the mysterious way in which ppl have dissappeared there because of storms and failing communications etc
